How To Properly Meditate Your Way To Good Quality Sleep

7:57 am July 26, 2010

It’s easier to fall asleep when you are relaxed. This should include relaxing both your mind and body. Having this state of relaxation will give you a good quality sleep; deep and untroubled. There are varieties of ways for you to have R and R. One way to have that kind of rest is to use relaxation drugs or sleeping pills which are proven to work overtime and fast. However, taking this kind of medication often results to harmful side-effects and addiction. But you need not to worry because there are still natural ways to encourage relaxation. One good example of a natural way to relax is through meditation.

Meditation is a proven technique to promote relaxation both the mind and body. It helps to keep all your troubles and worries away at the time when you need it most; for example, sleeping. It would be difficult to fall asleep when you have too many troubles and worries bothering your head, you will find it hard to keep focused on putting yourself asleep. Meditation will help you through this.

There are different ways to meditate than can be applicable or suitable for your taste. Each of the ways varies in the method and approach in dealing with the stress problem. But they are all proven to be effective as long as you can assure participation and cooperation from your part.

Here are some ways:

Establishing a Focus

When you are meditating, it is utterly important that you have focus. Focus on both the aspect of the mind and the body. They are very essential because you can’t be able to meditate if your body is uncomfortable or uneasy or your mind is troubled and distracted. Therefore you have to keep both of these parts at rest. But how? There are different ways. For example, you can use a mantra to keep you mind in one. Mantra, from its Hindu origins, is a statement or phrase you repeat over and over to resonate a certain sense of peace. A lot of people use a mantra to keep their focus from time to time, most especially during meditation. Another way also would be to establish a mental image that would resemble your focus. This method is called guided imagery, wherein you come up with any shape or form to become a focal point of your mind. This method also employs hypnosis. Another way to keep your focus is by setting it on an object. It could be practically anything, a candle, a ball, anything.

A Good Setting

It is quite crucially important also before meditation to have a decent place where you will conduct your meditation. This would naturally follow that the place is distraction free. Meaning in that place, there should nothing that would disturb your meditation session. Also it is relevant that the place should make you feel comfortable all throughout the process. What kind of place is that? Well, that’s up to you.

Guided Imagery: The Key To Relaxation

10:08 am July 24, 2010

Another form of mediation is growing popularity among troubled sleepers nowadays. This is guided imagery mediation. Guided imagery is visual approach to meditation using hypnosis and relaxation. This procedure will require you to follow a step-by-step guided meditation to visualize and achieve a state of relaxation in the mind.

But before you can start with the treatment you would have to comply with some basic requirements first to fully optimize the meditation process. One would be to find a room completely insulated from any external and internal distractions. Second is to find a convenient position to begin with. After that you can begin with the next steps.

1. Find your Relaxation Point

To successfully start with the process you would have to first find your relaxation point. Your relaxation point is simply a state where you are most comfortable at. You begin to visualize this in your head and set it as a goal or a place to go to. Thinking of a peaceful and harmonious place could help you with this step.

2. Relax your Physical self

Of course most importantly after finding that relaxation point is to relax. The more relaxed you are the better. From relaxation will then begin a good and effective mediation. Relaxation can be achieved through releasing the tension of your muscles setting your entire body at ease state. Physical relaxation is the key to unlocking the next door to transcendence.

3. Calm Your Mind

Now this is another very important thing to achieve in meditating. Peace of mind is a very crucial in before fully immersing yourself in a state of peace. Your mind must not be easily diverted to some other stuff that could distract your peace. Distractions like noise and or humdrums from any external entity should be prevented from getting into you. You can do that by keeping your mind on a focus. This focus will serve as a place for you to go back to each and evrery time you find your attention being drifted away.

4. Breath

This is also very necessary. To have proper breathing means good blood circulation and thus a good physical and mental state. In order to breath properly you have to take a long, deep and exhilarating breathes. Breath that would practically make you feel rejuvenated.

5. Delve Deeper

Along the process you will subtly feel the relaxation seeping and sinking in. Go deeper into that feeling and keep reaching until you reach that point.

6. Create an Image in the Mind

Now you can start visualizing or projecting an image in your mind. The image that culminates all that you feel right as of the moment while going through the meditation process. It doesn’t have to take a regular form; it can be free flowing and irregular in shape but just as long as you can perfectly visualize the idea of it.

Trying The Zeo Personal Sleep Coach

9:15 am July 9, 2010

For the longest time, I have had sleep problems and have checked out a lot of options. In this article I will share with you some of the things I have tried and review my experiences. Additionally, I will reveal a new device called the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach. This is a nifty new device that monitors your sleep and gives you insight into why you are not getting good sleep.

I have suffered from two problems with sleep. First, I have had insomnia, and usually require at least an hour to fall asleep. In addition, when I do fall asleep, I often find that I wake up numerous times at night and then I am incapable of going back to sleep.

In the beginning, I researched and tried different natural remedies. You’ve probably heard of Melatonin. I have tried that along with many other natural pills. None of these things did much, and I continued to suffer from the same problems. I eventually started using over the counter sleeping pills, which did manage to get me to sleep, but left me drowsy the following day.

Eventually, I spoke about my problems with my physician. As you can probably imagine, the solution from my doctor was to try some sleeping pills, for which I got some prescriptions. Some of the brands I tried out include Ambien among several others. I had some pretty serious side effects from using these prescriptions, and had to quit taking them.

Recently, I read about a new device on the market called the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach. The Zeo is a new device that monitors your sleep from home. It comes with a lightweight headband and a bedside unit that collects data. In the morning, you can log into the website and load up your information to get feedback and suggestions.

This sounds like quite a high-tech solution, and since they have a 30 day trial, I may check it out. It used to be that these kinds of sleep analysis systems would cost a lot of money and require you to go to a professional sleep center. It’s great that I might be able to get similar assistance by using an affordable home device like the Zeo.

Visit the following page to get a free trial of the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach for 30 days. You can also view other coupons by going to Bold Coupons.com.
